The school year has flown by! It is hard to believe the last day of this first quarter is coming up on Friday, Nov. 1.

I would like to take a moment to recognize all that our students have accomplished in their after school activities to this point of the school year.

First off, our Cross Country runners have shown tremendous growth during the season. There were several personal records and bests achieved throughout the season. The section meet was Thursday, Oct. 24 at Mora Spring Brook Golf Course. There were three best times of the season in Hannah Kopel, Ryan Dziubak and Shane Lund. There were also six PR’s in Cody Hansen, Ed Oquist, Leah Wickeham, Jagur Omlid, Brett Lund and Ava Johnson.

Our volleyball team finished with an overall regular season record of 9-17. The overall conference record finished at 5-7. Our girls won the first match of the Section 5A playoffs over Ogilvie 3-0. The girls then lost to Onamia 3-1 to finish their season with an overall record of 10-18.

The fall musical Guys and Dolls is going to be a must see! The students and staff have put in countless hours of work and preparation for their upcoming performances. Performances are Nov. 2, 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 3 and 10 at 2 p.m. We hope to see you there for an evening-afternoon you won’t forget!

The Braham Bomber Football team had finished the regular season with a record of 7-1. The Bombers will began the playoffs with wins over Barnum 48-8 and Hinckley-Finlayson 36-20. The Braham football team will now play in the Section 7A Championship game on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:15 p.m. at Esko High School for the right to go to the state tournament!

It is hard to believe our winter sports seasons are right around the corner. The JH boys basketball team starts practice on Tuesday, Nov. 5, the 9-12 girls basketball team starts practice on Monday, Nov. 11, the 9-12 boys basketball and 7-12 wrestling starts practice on Monday, Nov. 18 and the JH boys basketball team starts practice on Thursday, Jan. 2.

In closing, I would like to thank the parents, local businesses and the Braham community as a whole for your wonderful support of our students and their activities! We have so many fantastic things going on here at Braham Area Schools. Our kids are doing many great things, they deserve the credit for making Braham Area Schools truly an enjoyable place to work and be a part of.
