Braham defense rock-solid in win over Chisholm

The Braham defense limited the Bluestreaks to just 112 yards of total offense in the Bombers' 49-6 home victory on Friday, Sept. 6.

Braham zoomed to a 42-0 halftime lead and blasted Chisholm 49-6 in the Bombers' home opener Friday, Sept. 6.

Luke Bendickson ran for three touchdowns while quarterback Hayden Lee ran for one TD while passing for two others as the Bombers improved to 2-0 on the season.

Braham scored three touchdowns in the final 4:05 of the first quarter to jump to a 22-0 lead after the first period. Bendickson scored on a five-yard TD run, then returned a punt 70 yards for another score while Lee threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Reed Reising.

Bendickson scored on a 34-yard run on the second play of the second quarter, then added a 16-yard TD run before Lee scored from 10 yards out.

Lee then threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Michael Hackler less than three minutes into the third quarter, and from there the Bombers substituted liberally the rest of the way.

Chisholm spoiled the Braham shutout when Jude Sundquist scored on a quarterback sneak with three minutes left in the game.

Bendickson finished with 103 rushing yards on nine carries, while Lee added 84 yards on 11 runs as the Bombers ran the ball 33 times for 236 yards.

Lee completed 7-of-13 passes for 80 yards and the two scores as the Bombers finished with 327 yards of total offense.

Meanwhile the Bomber defense limited Chisholm to 112 yards of total offense, with most of those yards coming in the fourth quarter. Braham also forced three turnovers as the Bluestreaks lost two fumbles and threw an interception.

Josh Klingensmith led the defense with six tackles, including four solo stops. Three Braham defensive linemen -- Masyn Londgren, Alex Londgren and Austin Sterling -- each had two tackles for loss.
