ERGC, Pinewood reopen — and fast

Elk River High School graduate and University of Minnesota men’s freshman hockey player Jack Perbix followed his ball to see where his drive went, while his brother Nick Perbix, also an Elk River graduate and St. Cloud State men’s sophomore hockey player, practiced his swing. The Perbix brothers and father Jay Perbix were among the local golfers to flock to Elk River courses after Gov. Tim Walz announced on April 17 golf courses could reopen at 5 a.m. April 18. Chris Singer, manager of both the Elk River Golf Club and Pinewood, opened two courses in 18 hours.
