Details for Sewer Jetting Notice

CITY OF PRINCETON NOTICE TO RESIDENTS Beginning the week of June 18, 2018, the City of Princeton Public Works Department will begin its annual jetting of all sewer mains in the City. This will take into September, 2018, to complete. This annual maintenance practice is necessary to prevent and minimize blockages and backups in our sewer system. Because of the pressures required to facilitate proper cleaning and inconsistencies in some home plumbing systems, back pressure created by this process may come up toilets, bathtub drains, and basement floor drains, causing small messes and inconveniences. Another side effect from this process is a slight odor of sewer gas in the home. This is a result of the water being pulled from the traps in the home and can be remedied by running water in all sinks and flushing all toilets. We have a list of problem homes and do our best to notify those affected if possible, but to be safe we ask that should no one be home during the day your toilet seats be put down and drains closed. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call City Hall with your concerns, 763-389-2040. Published in the Union-Times June 21, 2018 826533
