Chris Pieper placed second in the high jump event at the state track and field tournament this past weekend. He jumped 6-04, just under the first place winner’s height of 6-05.
Chris Pieper competed in high jump at the 2022 Minnesota Class A Track and Field State Tournament last week, taking second place with leap of 6-04. Jory Peters (also a senior) of Minneapolis North won the event, clearing 6-05. Pieper also took sixth place in high jump at the State Tournament in 2021, clearing 6-02.
“Chris was an outstanding track and field athlete,” Warriors coach Reese Wait said after the meet. “He was always willing to try new things and run any event asked of him. He was amazingly consistent over his entire high school career and so good under pressure. His leadership will be missed.”
The 10 team points Pieper earned left Caledonia/Spring Grove tied for 35th place in team totals. Nova Classical Academy (St. Paul) won the Class A Boys team race with 47.5 points, followed by Perham (47), and Minneapolis North Community (46).
