On October 9th 2019 at approx. 9:20 am, Houston County Sheriff’s Office investigators along with Houston Police Department and members from the Southeast Minnesota Violent Crime Enforcement Team executed a narcotics search warrant at 417 S. Ellsworth St. in the City of Houston.

As a result of evidence gathered during the search, Tyler Cheyne Sherry (27) was arrested on Felony drug related charges.  Mr. Sherry was charged in Houston County District Court with fifth degree sales of narcotics, fifth degree possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers recovered; Marijuana wax, Marijuana oils, Marijuana buds, and Marijuana Electronic Vaping devices and numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, officers recovered packaging materials commonly used in the sales of narcotics and processing equipment for extracting marijuana oils. Officers also recovered $ 9,340.00 in cash that is believed to be proceeds from sales.

Sheriff Inglett states the evidence recovered is certainly consistent with substantially more than simple personal usage. Children and young adults are turning to vaping more and more and it is of great concern for all of us. It is the Sheriff’s Office hope that we have disrupted the distribution of these products to our local youth.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
