Turkeys land at food shelf

Last week, the Houston County chapter of the Wild Turkey Federation (HCWTF) donated 25 turkeys to the SEMCAC  Houston County Food Shelf. It was the 33rd year of donations to local food shelves by the group, which has now provided 825 turkeys to those charitable organizations. Here, volunteers Bob and John Conway (L-R front row, who were helping out at the time), display two of the donated turkeys, which will certainly be a welcome addition to local families in need. The back row features HCWTF director DeWayne “Tank” Schroeder, HCWTF secretary/treasurer Carol Lapham, and Houston County Food Shelf director Kris Olson.
