Many prairie and other wildflowers have seeds with dormancies that prevent them from germinating under the conditions you would provide for tomatoes and other garden vegetables.  To grow prairie plants yourself, it’s important to understand treatments to overcome dormancies in seeds.  We’ll give you the knowledge to grow your own prairie plants, including many pollinator-friendly perennials that come back year after year. $3 program fee and $5/species container. RSVP by Friday, February 23rd at 4:00 so we have space and materials ready for you.  Program appropriate for ages 5 to adult.  Houston Nature Center is at 215 W Plum Street, 1 block north and west of the intersection of Hwys. 16 and 76 in Houston.  For more information and to RSVP call 507-896-4668 or email nature@houstonmn.us<mailto:nature@houstonmn.us>.
