Copper Street Brass Quintet performs, meets with band students to offer advice and tips

Professional musicians and middle school band students, sharing in common a love of music, played pieces for each other Feb. 14 at Fridley Middle School.

The Copper Street Brass Quintet kicked off the half-day workshop with a concert in the gym. Then members of the group split up for almost two hours to work with small groups of students by section.

The quintet includes Allison Hall on trumpet and keyboard; Corbin Dillon on trumpet; Timothy Bradley on horn, keyboard and guitar; Alex Wolff on trombone; and Nick Adragna on tuba. With experience in classroom teaching and individual instruction, the group spends much of its time in schools, sharing their energy and passion with students from kindergarten to college.

The performance and workshop with the quintet was made possible by a $2,000 grant from Target Corporation.
