Last weekend detectives arrested a man suspected in five bank robberies, Blaine police announced Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Brock Kailen Esaw, 34, was arrested in Coon Rapids Saturday, Oct. 5, after he was suspected of robbing a bank in Brooklyn Park, police say.
Blaine police became involved in the investigation after a robbery at the U.S. Bank branch at 231 County Highway 10 around 4:50 p.m. Sept. 26.
Additional robberies had taken place earlier in September in Anoka, Coon Rapids and Mounds View, and there was an attempted robbery in Andover. Police believed they were all related.
Detectives from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office; the Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids and Mounds View police departments; and the FBI coordinated their efforts and identified Esaw as a potential suspect in each of the robberies, according to police.
Esaw was booked into Anoka County jail on a robbery charge, with additional charges to follow, according to authorities.
