Only one of three Anoka-Hennepin School Board seats up for election this year is contested.

Seats representing Districts 1, 2 and 5 are all on the ballot Nov. 5.

Incumbent Tom Heidemann, of Anoka, is being challenged in District 1 by Erin Heers-McArdle, of Anoka. Dustin Reeder withdrew his name as a candidate by the Aug. 15 deadline.

District 1 includes Anoka, parts of Ramsey, Coon Rapids and Andover. Heidemann has held the seat since 2000.

Blaine resident Marci Anderson is running unopposed to keep her seat for District 2. She currently serves as the board’s vice chair.

District 2 includes Blaine and parts of Coon Rapids. Anderson has held the seat since 2008.

Board Member Nicole Hayes, of Brooklyn Park, is running to keep her seat in District 5. Coon Rapids resident Ethan Yang had filed to challenge her but withdrew his name by the deadline.

District 5 includes Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park and parts of Coon Rapids and Fridley. Hayes was appointed and elected to the seat in 2015.
