Due to heavy snowfall during the afternoon of Jan. 3, many of ABC Newspapers' coverage area school cancelled their afternoon activities.
The Anoka-Hennepin school district has announced a modified dismissal schedule and cancelation of all afternoon and evening activities. High schools will dismiss 30 minutes early, middle schools 15 minutes early and elementary schools on-time.
St. Francis
St. Francis area schools have also canceled all afternoon/evening activities. It has not been announced if the weather will affect the school day for Jan. 4.
Fridley
Fridley also cancelled after-school activities. The district's website posted
"Due to inclement weather, we will release pre-K and secondary students 30 minutes early today, Tuesday, January 3, to allow our buses extra time to pick up our elementary school students. At this time there are no impacts to school or activities on Wednesday.
Details:
Students in Fridley Preschool will be released at 2:15 p.m. today.
Fridley Middle School, Fridley High School and Area Learning Center will be released at 2:30 p.m. today.
Students at Hayes and Stevenson Elementary Schools will be released at the regularly scheduled time today.
After-school activities will still be held this afternoon and evening.
Tiger Club remains open. Watch for an email from Tiger Club with specifics."
PACT
PACT charter school in Ramsey cancelled all after school activities as well. PACT posted the following statement on Facebook:
"Due to the fluffy white stuff falling from the sky, all after-school activities (including ASAP) are canceled for Tuesday, January 3. Stay safe out there, Panthers! #PACTPride"
Spring Lake Park
Due to the weather, all school and district afternoon and evening activities are canceled on Tuesday, January 3 for Spring Lake Park Schools.
Bus riders in middle and high school will be released slightly early. This schedule will help our buses run as close to on time as possible for all schools.
Child care programs will remain open. Parents are encouraged to come early if possible.
