The fourth annual Local Author Fair is 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Northtown Library in Blaine.

At the event attendees will connect with authors from across the community and purchase their books.

“One of our goals for the libraries is to expand access to ideas, information and stories,” said Anoka County Library Director Maggie Snow. “Being able to provide a platform for local authors to share their stories is an important role for the library, and it’s a really nice opportunity for our public to meet new local authors and learn about new recourses. It’s a wonderful day of learning and sharing stories.”

The event will start at 10:15 a.m. with keynote speaker Brian Freeman, author of “The Voice Inside,” for which he won the Minnesota Book Award. Freeman is a bestselling author of psychological thrillers, including the Jonathan Stride and Frost Easton series. He has been selected by the Robert Ludlum estate to take over Ludlum’s Jason Bourne series in a new book due out in 2020.

Attendees will then meet with 19 local authors at their booths from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Many of the authors who attend are from Anoka and Hennepin counties, and the rest are from across Minnesota.

The other participating authors include Bethany L. Atazadeh, “The Stolen Kingdom”; M.E. Bakos, “Deadly Flip”; Lee Burtman, “Fighting for Delphine: A Soldier’s True Story of Triumph and Tears”; Kathy Coughlin, “Lucius and his Collection of Unusual Things”; Barbara Deese, “Spirits of Pepin”; John Gaspard, “The Ambitious Card”; June Gossler Anderson, “History and Hauntings of the Emerald Isle”; El Holly, “Phantasmic Wars: Book 3”; Laura Kieger, “Summer’s Complaint”; Sue Anne W.
