Fridley School Board member Abdisalam Adam was officially sworn into the Fridley School Board at the Jan. 15 meeting. Adam will complete the remainder of former Boardmember Kim Sampson’s term. Sampson resigned at the end of December due to work commitments.
This was also the first school board meeting held at its new permanent location, the Fridley Community Center.
“As a member of the Fridley School Board, I will strive for equity in governance and work hard to ensure that the students of Fridley Public Schools receive a world-class education that meets the challenges of a global workplace,” Adam said.
A veteran educator, Adam brings extensive experience in both education and community involvement. He has served on boards of multiple civic and educational organizations. Over 80 students, parents and community members, including Rep. Connie Bernardy (41A) and Rep. Mohamud Noor (60B), attended the School Board meeting and witnessed Adam’s oath of office ceremony.
