Seniors in the Anoka-Hennepin School District’s Secondary Technical Education Program were recognized for their efforts and received scholarships during a ceremony May 23 at Anoka Technical College.

The event included a student-cooked buffet.

Before scholarships were handed out, visitors heard musical performances from students Sequoia Range and Danielle Spah.

Director Jessica Lipa greeted guests and thanked them for attending before announcing award recipients.

Two students received $1,000 scholarships from the Anoka Technical College Foundation. Thomas Meyer and Aaron Moldan each received the STEP Getting Started scholarship.

Students Nicholas Bier and Victor Kozlak each received a $1,000 scholarship from Caterpillar Global Paving Products.

Five students received $500 Kopp Family Foundation Scholarships. They were: Kaleigh Beggin, Nancy Martinez, Alison Huberty, Nicholas Hauck and Kiley Kluever.

Ethan Bailey and Michelle Martinez each received a $1,000 Connexus Energy scholarship.

Angelique Hronoski and Karishma Persaud each received a $500 Career Pathways Karbowski Family Scholarship.

Lily Vue earned the $2,000 Ramsey Lions Club scholarship.

Somwati Persaud received a $250 Red Cross scholarship.
