A portion of Lexington Avenue in Ham Lake is closed temporarily Oct. 7 after a fatal motorcycle accident.
The motorcyclist a 67-year-old Minneapolis man, died after a collision with a pickup truck around 3:36 p.m. Oct. 7.
The pickup was driven by a 44-year-old Ham Lake man turning left from Lexington Avenue onto Bunker Lake Boulevard, and the motorcyclist was southbound on Lexington when they collided, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
The pickup driver was uninjured. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. No passengers were involved. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, according the Sheriff’s Office.
Lexington Avenue southbound from 149th Avenue will be closed for several hours while the crash is investigated, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Ham Lake Fire Department, Allina Ambulance and the Sheriff’s Office responded. Investigations by the Minnesota State Patrol, the Midwest Examiner’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office continue.
