A Lotto America ticket purchased in Ramsey is worth approximately $21.6 million, Minnesota Lottery officials announced Thursday, July 11.
The lucky ticket matched all five winning numbers, plus the Star Ball drawn on July 10 (16 – 22 – 32 – 36 – 42 Star Ball – 8) to win the jackpot.
The Holiday station at 14075 Ramsey Blvd. in Ramsey sold the winning ticket.
“We are thrilled to have a jackpot winner in Minnesota!” said Minnesota Lottery Executive Director Adam Prock in a statement. “The winner should put the ticket somewhere safe, get any advice that they need and then call us to make arrangements to claim their prize.”
This is not the first big win for this store.
“Congratulations to Holiday #395!” Prock said. “In addition to this $21.6 million win, this store has sold a $1 million winning ticket and two $50,000 winning tickets.”
The winner has one year from the date of the drawing to claim the prize and sixty days from the date that they claim the prize to elect either the annuity option or the cash option. The winner will receive the prize within two weeks of making their election.
The $21.6 million estimated annuity jackpot would be paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years. The $14.2 million estimated cash option would be paid as a lump-sum, minus required withholdings. The winner would receive approximately $9.8 million after state and federal required tax withholdings.
The Lotto America jackpot has been won three times since the game began on Nov. 12, 2017. This is Minnesota’s second Lotto America jackpot win. The Kujava family of Badger shared a $22.8 million jackpot won on March 14, 2018. The Kujavas' winning ticket was purchased at a Holiday store in Roseau.
