Gasoline Alley

The Gasoline Alley building in Blaine was demolished Monday, Jan. 29. The property owner said she is not selling the land and that the adjacent mobile home park the family also owns will remain unchanged. Photo by Eric Hagen

In the 1980s and 1990s Gasoline Alley was an amusement center mecca in the North Metro, featuring a go-kart track, bumper boats, a miniature golf course and a gaming room.

The business closed in 2001, but the amenities remained and sometimes drew the attention of urban explorers.

I cover the cities of Andover, Blaine and Ramsey and in addition I write many crime stories. I grew up in Wisconsin, so I am a Packers fan but my passion is Gophers sports since I went to the University of Minnesota.
