Crystal House boutique in Coon Rapids is celebrating its grand reopening and 15th anniversary this week after closing for repairs and renovations.

The weather in February unexpectedly forced the shop to close for a month after a ceiling collapse and flooding.

“Mother nature’s damages were wholly unexpected,” assistant store manager Stephanie Fassett said. “But after the initial shock wore off, we chose to make lemonade out of a very soggy bowl of lemons. We decided to not only repair the section that was damaged, but we also took the time to update and rearrange areas of the store that we felt had become a bit stale. If we were going to do this, then we were going to do it right. We wanted our customers to be excited to come back when we reopened.”

The boutique planned celebrations for April 24-27, including live music, a MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting, door prizes and more.

Marilyn Lom and Donna Wilson launched Crystal House boutique in 2004 from a home in Blaine. Their dream of a “ladies fashion, gift and home décor oasis” grew, and that same year they secured a small retail location in the Foley Plaza Mall in Coon Rapids. In 2014 Crystal House relocated to a larger space in the same Foley Plaza Mall.

“I believe what really makes us stand out are relationships,” store manager Rebecca Bowers said. “From our store owners to our employees and customers, something pretty magical happens when we form these kind of connections with one another and that’s evident here.”

The store is at 455 99 Ave. NW, Coon Rapids.Learn more at shopcrystalhouse.com.
