The University of Minnesota volleyball team had three representatives selected to the 2019 Preseason All-Big Ten team, the Big Ten Conference announced. Alexis Hart, Taylor Morgan and Stephanie Samedy were three of 14 members selected. It marks the third honor for Hart, the second for Samedy and the first for Morgan. In addition, Minnesota was picked to finish third in the Big Ten Preseason poll, voted on by the league coaches.

Morgan, a redshirt senior middle blocker from Blaine, was an All-America honorable mention and a Second Team All-Big Ten selection in her first year as a starter last season. Morgan had 249 kills, averaging 2.42 kills per set, and had 113 blocks. She also hit .379 and averaged 1.10 blocks per set last season.

The Golden Gophers open the season in Chapel Hill, N.C., when they compete in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Aug. 30-31. Minnesota opens the season against host North Carolina, then faces Florida State to conclude the tournament.
