The community is invited to a panel discussion to hear from census officials and community leaders about the importance of a complete census count and how one community in Anoka County is approaching the challenge. Event sponsors are League of Women Voters ABC (Anoka, Blaine, Coon Rapids Area) and the city of Coon Rapids. Event is free and open to the public.

Guests may gather at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the hall outside the Coon Rapids council chambers for refreshments and to view information and converse with participants. The program begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers. Attendees may submit written questions to be addressed by panelists following the formal presentation.

Panelists will be: Matt Brown, Coon Rapids economic development coordinator; Andrew Verdin, director of census operations for the Minnesota State Demographer’s Office; Kathy Tingelstad, former Minnesota state legislator; and Amir Malik, civil rights attorney. CTN Studios will record the event for cable television.
