Ramsey’s annual business expo will be hosted in a new, larger venue this April.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 6, in the Adrenaline Sports Center (8310 147th Ave. NW) the expo will welcome visitors to learn about local businesses.
Activities for kids, such as balloon art and airbrush tattoos, will be available. City of Ramsey tote bags will be given away at the door, and additional giveaways will occur in the expo.
Other attractions will include chicks at the Anoka-Ramsey Farm & Garden booth, take-home art projects, chair massages and more.
The move to Adrenaline Sports Center allowed organizers to experiment with a larger format for the expo.
“We wanted to bring it to a venue that would allow for more exhibitors to be there, and we also thought that bringing it to Adrenaline will also have some synergy with Adrenaline itself,” Economic Development Manger Sean Sullivan said.
He suspects sports center visitors will swing by the expo during a soccer practice, or expo visitors will swing by a sports center event.
Aside from the location, most portions of the event will be similar to past years, but there will be many new vendors – approximately half of registered vendors are participating for the first time, said Wendy Schlueter, economic development administrative assistant for Ramsey.
“To me the point of the expo is to give our Ramsey businesses a venue and an opportunity to market themselves to residents, in a fun way, to those that are within the city and those that are outside the boundaries of the city,” Sullivan said.
Staff cautions that it may be difficult to get to the Adreneline Sports Center. Visitors should take Bunker Lake Boulevard to Jackel Street.
Admission to the event is free.
