The third annual Walk 4 Water had 172 participants June 1 at Bridgewood Community Church in Blaine.

The walk raised $31,500 for Water 4 Kids International. All funds will go toward providing three villages in Uganda with deep water wells: Nambwa, Kamuno and another village to be announced at a later date.

The walk was 4 miles, which symbolizes the average distance young children and women in Uganda take to search for water, and many of the water locations are unsafe.

Many of the Walk 4 Water participants carried jerrycans during the walk to simulate what people in Uganda might experience when they need water.
