Centennial at Blaine

Friday, Oct. 4

Blaine will look to keep the momentum rolling from a homecoming win over Roseville in another home matchup, this time against 3-2 Centennial. Four of the Cougars’ first five games have been decided by one possession, including most recently a 21-14 win over Maple Grove in week five.

North St. Paul at Spring Lake Park

Friday, Oct. 4

Spring Lake Park takes the field on homecoming having won two in a row to move to 3-2. The Panthers will take on North St. Paul, which has started 0-5.

Fridley at Mound Westonka

Friday, Oct. 4

A week after dispatching one undefeated opponent on the road, Fridley takes on another as it heads to 5-0 Mound Westonka. The White Hawks had their biggest test in week three in a 22-21 win over Providence Academy, otherwise defeating their other four foes by 15 points or more.

Anoka at Totino-Grace

Friday, Oct. 4

Totino-Grace is on a roll, having won four in a row after dropping its opener on a late field goal. Anoka enters with a 1-4 record.

Columbia Heights at Spectrum

Friday, Oct. 4

Columbia Heights looks to add on another win after picking up its first victory in week five in an afternoon road game at Spectrum, which also notched its first win last week over Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.

Oct. 4-15

Section tournaments continue with team and individual play through Oct. 15. Columbia Heights, Fridley, Spring Lake Park and Totino-Grace are competing in Section 4AA; Anoka and Coon Rapids are competing in Section 5AA; and Andover, Blaine and St. Francis are competing in Section 7AA.

It is survive and advance time in boys and girls soccer as the postseason begins. Andover, Anoka, Blaine and Coon Rapids will compete in Section 7AA; Spring Lake Park is in 5AA; Columbia Heights, Fridley and Totino-Grace are in Section 5A; PACT is in Section 6A; and St. Francis and Legacy Christian are in Section 7A.

Blaine hosts Northwest Suburban newcomer Rogers in a conference dual and one last tuneup before the true team section meet arrives two days following.
