To the editor:

National POW/MIA Recognition Day was Sept. 16. It is an observance that honors those who were prisoners of war as well as those who are still missing in action. A national level ceremony is held on every National POW/MIA Recognition Day established in 1979. This event is observed across the country on military installations, ships at Sea, state capitals, schools & Veteran’s Facilities .
