Another weekend, another lights-out ace performance, another round forward.

The Blaine Fusion reached the final four of the winners’ bracket in the Class B Amateur State Baseball Tournament Aug. 24, topping the Moorhead Brewers 3-1 in the second round.

Davis Bryan, a week after throwing a shutout, took the mound again and allowed just one run on five hits to pick up another win. Bradley Spencer recorded the final four outs to pick up the save.

Jackson Hauge and Ryan Sutterer each went 2-for-3 and combined to drive in all three runs.

Blaine takes on defending state champion Chanhassen Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Dassel.

Chanhassen defeated Champlin Park 1-0 in the first round and Northfield 2-0 in the second round.

Games continue Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, with the state championship Sept. 2 in Maple Lake.

Also remaining in the tournament are Miesville, Dundas, Moorhead and Chaska.
