St. Francis

Head coach (years with team): Glenn Beggin (6th season at St. Francis, 51st overall).

Team captains: Tyler Lupinek, Andy Christopherson, and Jack Russum.

Returning starters/key contributors: “Those three are returning starters, along with leading scorer in 2018 Hunter Doherty. All are seniors,” Beggin said.

Team strengths/expectations: “We are challenging ourselves with AA competition and should do well in the Mississippi 8 Conference,” Beggin said. “We are no longer in the largest 64 high schools and at tournament time will be playing in Section 7A. We have high expectations and are looking forward to another good season of development through soccer.”


Head coach (years with team): John Schlichtmann (11 years at Andover, previously 8 years with Blaine girls soccer).

Team captains: Andrew Rowland, Cade Williams, Eric Chartier and Pouria Nastaean.

Returning starters/key contributors: captains, plus Alex Cole, Noah Eklund, Logan Penner.

New players: Baraka Tarleton, Ashton Frost and Bailey Kostick.

Team strength(s): “Midfield should be very solid,” Schlichtmann said.

Expectations: “Expecting a very solid season,” Schlichtmann said. “We have the skill to compete at a very high level.”

Coon Rapids

Head coach (years with team): Armando Oster (2nd year).

Team captains: Almir Begic, Jared Heida and Brandon Dinsmore.

Returning starters/key contributors: Almir Begic and Jared Heida.

New players: Yuken Harmon, sophomore forward.

Team strength(s): “Midfield and forward line,” Oster said.

Expectations: “A .500 record and win the first section game,” Oster said.


Head coach (years with team): Erik Rasmussen (1st season at PACT).

Team captains: Gabe Oquendo, Trevor Lindberg and Isaac Wells.

Returning starters/key contributors: “I am excited for our possibilities this season,” Rasmussen said. “Our attacking core of Brenden Jankowski, Isaac Wells, Jace Fisher and Gio Santiago are coming together well. It is obvious that they have all played together for many years and I think their chemistry gives us a real advantage this year.”


Head coach (years with team): Berry Arrowsmith (21st year at Blaine, 31st year as head coach overall).

Team captain: Noah Trautman.

Returning starters/key contributors: “Noah Trautman: very strong defensively and will be taking most of our free kicks,” Arrowsmith said, and, “Andreas Pearson: very strong defender who just does not know the word quit.”

Team strength(s): “We have a good mix of upperclassmen and when they play together as a team we are very strong,” Arrowsmith said.

New players: “We really do not have any new players, but our few returning players will make an impact this year,” Arrowsmith said. “Richie Pawlik, Melvin Keita and Felipe Fanning will be the players that will be stepping onto the field and should make an impact for us.”

Expectations: “Our goal is to do better than last year,” Arrowsmith said. “We would like to finish in the top four in our conference and look to get back to the section championship game again this year.”
