Anoka County Polar Plungers, 573 of them to be exact, raised $143,206 for this year’s plunge held at Crooked Lake Park on Feb. 25.

A hole was cut in the ice of the lake in Coon Rapids, and plungers approached it through an inflatable tunnel, topped with a polar bear. The plungers raised money’s by asking for donations before the event and they raised $3,206 more than the stated goal of $140,000. So for this year, 14,390 plungers raise approximately $3.7 million dollars.
