A busy month of February at North Suburban Center for the Arts in Fridley includes a new exhibition and a new call for art.
The show “Kingdom Animalia” is now open through March 5, with an opening reception on Friday, Feb. 3, from 6-8 p.m. at North Suburban (110 77th Way NE). The exhibition is focused on animal-inspired artwork from all mediums.
There is also a call for art for the upcoming exhibition “Weaving the North.”
North Suburban’s open call exhibition will highlight various weaving techniques of Minnesota-based fiber artists. The goal of the exhibition is to educate community members on different weaving techniques and connect visitors to the history of weaving. The exhibition is sponsored by and features work of Scandinavian Weavers Study Group of the Weavers Guild of Minnesota and other fiber artists residing in the Northern states.
“Weaving the North” submissions will be accepted through Feb. 28 at northsuburbanarts.org/call-for-art. The exhibition is scheduled to run March 15 through April 23.
