About this Program
Most of us spend considerable time on roadways and our objective should always be to ensure our own safety and that of others. One way we can be safest is to be attentive when driving and to be aware of state traffic laws that regulate our travel.
The Minnesota State Patrol is one of many law enforcement agencies working diligently to protect our safety. Traffic safety, especially, is the State Patrol's concern and mandate.
To help all of us be safer on the roadways and to help all of us be safer in our daily lives, the Minnesota State Patrol and ECM Publishers are teaming together to offer an online feature called Ask A Trooper.
Visitors to this Web site may direct questions to Sgt. Dave Marquart, who serves the metropolitan west area as safety education officer.
"If we can't answer the question, we will use resources available to us to try to satisfy the questioner," said Marquart. Marquart is certified in child passenger safety and routinely instruct the public on the proper use of child restraint safety. Safety on the highway, bike safety and pedestrian safety are major topics the sergeant hopes to cover.
"I'm here to help the public become safer and to assure everyone that they can depend on us," said Marquart.
