Sesquicentennial grants - bucks for communities and groups to celebrate
Minnesota's 150th anniversary of statehood - are now available.
The Minnesota Statehood Sesquicentennial Commission announced Tuesday
(July 3) the availability of $325,000 in grant money to help fund
sesquicentennial activities.
Minnesota Statehood Sesquicentennial Commission Executive Director Jane Leonard announced Tuesday (July 3) the availability of grants to schools, nonprofits and local government for sesquicentennial activities.
Minnesota will be celebrating its 150th anniversary of statehood on May 11, 2008.

The past 10 months have not been kind to the Ultimate Fighting
Championship's title holders. In that time the championship belts for
four of the five UFC weight divisions have changed hands at least once.
The only stability in the champions' ranks has been in the lightweight class, where Sean Sherk has retained the previously vacant title he won in October with a blood-soaked victory over Kenny Florian.
