Roseville, MN – Residents, business owners and interested individuals are invited to a public hearing and open house to get information and provide formal comments on the draft Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the proposed I-35W MnPASS Express Lane extension project in Burnsville.

The project is scheduled to begin in 2010.

The hearing and open house will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 9 at Burnsville City Hall, 100 Civic Center Parkway in the Large Community Room.

Informational materials will be available, and representatives from Mn/DOT, the city of Burnsville and the design consultant team will be on hand to answers questions.

Formal written and oral comments will be accepted at the hearing. Written comments may also be mailed to: Rick Dalton, Mn/DOT Waters Edge Building MS 050, 1500 West County Road B2, Roseville, MN 55113. All mailed comments must be received by March 24, 2010.

The EAW is meant to describe the social, economic, and environmental impacts of the proposed project. Comments received on the EAW will be used by Mn/DOT to help determine if further environmental study is needed.

When completed, the Burnsville MnPASS extension project will extend the existing MnPASS lanes to include the portion of northbound I-35W between the I-35W/I-35E split and Burnsville Parkway, a distance of approximately two miles. The project will provide south metro residents with improved traffic flow, reduced congestion, and better commute times along I-35W.
