Steve Channer will serve on the East Bethel City Council in 2010. The city council Dec. 16 appointed Channer to fill the seat vacated by Councilmember Anne Klein, who is moving with her family to Pine City.

Klein’s seat only had one year remaining, so state law allowed the council to appoint a replacement. The seat is up for re-election in November 2010. See more in Eric Hagen's ABC Newspapers story.
