Whether it was the results of the equinox or just the right kind of broom, Donna Hilmerson of Little Falls was able to get the Record's broom to stand all by itself one day last week, as business went on as usual.

Hilmerson said she had been all over town setting up other businesses' and people's brooms, creating smiles and laughs along the way.

"That's the best part," said Hilmerson.

"People are having fun with it."

One catch, though - she couldn't make it sweep alone.
