Gov. Pawlenty wants agreement on unallotment legislation

Gov. Tim Pawlenty wants agreement between himself and DFL lawmakers on proposed unallotment legislation prior to it hitting his desk or he will veto the bill.

“So they know that,” he said.

Reaching an agreement is preferable to having lawmakers “throw it (the bill) at me,” said Pawlenty.

Sen. Jim Carlson, DFL-Eagan, is working on unallotment legislation along with others.

On other matters, Pawlenty indicated that he supported having the state primary in August.

Pawlenty said the administration would present its supplemental budget late week or early next week.

The governor is expected deliver his State of the State speech on Thursday.
