Rep. Paul Gardner says he’s sorry

Rep. Paul Gardner, DFL-Shoreview, rose briefly on the House floor today to apologize for an electronic message he sent out last session that Republicans believed damaging and against House rules.

An ethics complaint was filed against Gardner.

Gardner’s apology to the House ends the matter.

Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Delano, one of the Republicans who took issue with the biting message, walked over to Gardner’s seat after the apology and shook hands with Gardner.

“Thanks,” said Emmer.
