Sen. Rummel gives endorsement nod to Susan Gaertner
Sen. Sandy Rummel, DFL-White Bear Lake, has endorsed Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner for governor.
“Like her campaign pledge states, what Minnesota needs is a governor who is prepared to do the right thing regardless of the political consequences. I know Susan will be that governor,” said Rummel.
Rummel’s district includes Shoreview, Lexington, Circle Pines, parts of Lino Lakes.
Gaertner’s endorsement press release came shortly after House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher’s gubernatorial campaign released the names of a number of additional House members endorsing her for governor.

So I understand that Sen Rummel and Susan Gaertner are neighbors in White Bear Lake. Can anyone think of a single other reason to endorse Gaertner for governor?
I can think of several reasons NOT to endorse Gaertner. To my way of thinking, she was a simple pawn of Ramsey County sheriff during the Republican convention, and Gaertner continues to pursue baseless charges against the “RNC 8″ — despite a total lack of evidence against them and despite the massive corruption that the rest of Minnesota knows about, whether Fletcher’s closest colleagues now doing prison time and the Gang Strike Force he supervised now considered at least as dangerous as the gangs themselves.
Gaertner is an opportunist who does not have the public welfare in mind. If she did, she would also prosecute the uniformed officers who hid their identities during the convention, the offers who filed false reports, the officers who illegally assaulted the innocent and confiscated their belongings with no valid search warrant. Why should we elect a governor who has so little concern for our safety?
