Post holiday seson kicks into high gear
Ew. Made it through another holiday tourney season. Eagan girls hockey made it to the finals of the premier division at the Schwan’s Cup, only to lose to a good Minnetonka team 5-0. Burnsville boys hockey struggled in the Bronze division losing two-of-three while the Blaze girls team finished runner-up in its own holiday tournament. The girls fell to a very good Proctor team 7-4, but won a 1-0 shoot out that followed the game. I enjoyed the post-game shoot out. Read a column I wrote about it here.
Basketball: Eagan boys hoops made it to the finals of the Hastings tournament before losing to St. Thomas Academy. The two wins give the Wildcats three wins on the season. Burnsville’s girls basketball played in a very tough tournament at Hopkins, winning its seventh-place game over Grand Rapids after losing to Osseo and Eastview in the opening rounds.
Wrestling: Eagan turned some heads at the Rumble on the Red tournament in Fargo with Logan Anderson placing very high in the 215-pound class. Burnsville traveled to Oshkosh, Wis. for an individual tournament, coming with a pair of third place trophies from Yusef Hassan (215 pounds) and Ali Mohammed (119).
One of my resolutions for the new year is to improve my usage/frequency of technology. Look for more frequent posts on here and also on Twitter. I think its called Tweeting.
