politics has no memory…I guess
Interestingly enough, the value Wes Clark puts on military service seems sort of…well…arbitrary. Thus, four months in Vietnam for one guy resulted in “physical courage” and “moral values” of the kind needed in a president, while another’s long period in captivity being tortured is great and all…but isn’t really relevant resume-wise.
Why, it seems like just yesterday we were told, in these difficult times of war and strife, more than anything the nation needed a military man to “report for duty.”
What exactly has changed, other than the letter next to the name of the candidate with military service?
