Controlling the weater, kinda creepy

OK. Does anyone but me find it kind of weird that China is trying to control the weather?
The purpose is two-fold: To prevent rain on the opening day of the 2008 Olympics; and to try and reduce some of the smog.I do understand the point. As a runner (no where near Olympic style and teetering on the brink to even consider myself an “athlete”
Replace every instance of “weather” in this post, with “climate” and every “China” with “Humans” and you would be talking about precisely what many are trying to do right now worldwide.
Think about it – trying to control the weather is no creepier than thinking we can/should control the Global Climate.
