Cool in a warming world
I discovered this paragraph in a glowing article about the tortured existence of Al Gore:
He is the Bono of the environment, the Cassandra of Iraq, the star of an Oscar-winning film, and a nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize. To the amusement of his kids, some people now actually consider him cool.
From James Dean to Al Gore in less than 50 years. Imagine how less cool the rest of us must be if Al Gore has become the benchmark. Frankly, I think the article signals the death of cool. I don’t even want to be cool anymore.
If Al Gore is cool there is no cool.
